On Saturday, June 21, City Composer Angela de Weijer is organizing a meeting for neighborhood residents. She will engage in conversation with people to collect stories about their experiences and memories of life in the neighborhoods of Grasbroek, Schandelen, Musschemig and Hoppersgraaf. The stories form the start of sound compositions made especially for these districts. These compositions will be presented in the fall of 2025 and will then be given a permanent place in the neighborhood.

Angela de Weijer (Miss Milivolt) is a multidisciplinary creator, composer and DJ. Angela is Heerlen's first city composer (2024 - 2026). De Weijer has already composed for air alarms and monumental church organs, but also has an ear for smaller things like historical or conceptual sound. Angela uses a phenomenological approach in her artistic research. She likes to question the order of things and investigates whether there is any slack to be created by offering alternative perspectives. As a synth-lord, she is part of the experimental ambient-drone collective Drone Assembly.
