ABOUT INTRO
As a workshop for contemporary music and sound art, Intro in Situ supports boundary-pushing creators in their development.
PURPOSE*
Music and (sound) art lovers, chance audiences, (aspiring) musicians and adventurous culture visitors know to find Intro in Situ as the place in the border region between Maastricht (NL), Aachen (DE) and Liège (BE), for a contemporary program of music and sound art: future-oriented sounds with roots in the here and now.
ANBI*
Stichting Intro in Situ has a status of cultural ANBI (a Public Benefit Organisation)

FUNDING*
Intro in Situ receives structural support and funding from the Provincie Limburg and the municipality of Maastricht.
Additionally, Intro receives project-based support from various funds. In 2026 and 2027, Intro is receiving a contribution from Dioraphte for its residency program.
For the Echoes project, Intro is collaborating with Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, Ensemble Hopper, Centre Henri Pousseur, and six young composers from the Euregio Maas-Rijn.
Intro's workshop is built on equality with an artistic core consisting of artists and focused on innovative music that emerges in this time through artistic research.

Intro in Situ works according to the three codes of conduct of the cultural sector: the Culture Governance Code, the Fair Practice Code and the Diversity & Inclusion Code
COMMUNITY*
Intro works with pleasure alongside a selection of community partners including (but not extensive):
