Rianne Wilbers, also known as RHIANNIN, is in your face, colorful, personal, absurdist and sensual. Armed with her voice - singing, dancing and moaning - she confronts you and takes you into her inner world. She captures you in her web of image, sound and immersive technologies. She makes connections that others consider impossible. Inspired synergies arise because she merges diverse disciplines into surprising and wonderful projects. She graduated as a classical singer from the Tilburg Conservatory, but her curiosity and hunger for experiment have broadened her horizons far beyond the world of classical music. Rianne masters a wide range of unconventional and sometimes obscure singing techniques and styles from experimental rock/pop, to electronic music, avant-garde, world music and jazz.
Rianne can lose herself in the age-old craft of painting and makes paintings at least as colorful as her voice. Here too, she delves deeper and works with the possibilities of the latest and most advanced digital visual technologies.
This adventurous versatility creates a groundbreaking repertoire that often results in unique projects. This has already resulted in performances at the November Music Festival, Rotterdam Opera Days, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Gaudeamus Music Week, TransitFestival and Festival Musica in Strasbourg. Rianne also has world premieres of works by composers such as Mayke Nas, Anthony Fiumara and Gerard Beljon to her name.
