Show Pony is the avant pop project of American double bassist, singer, and producer Laura Nygren. Voice, bass, delicate melodies, and electronic textures are woven together to form her experimental universe. On October 29th Show Pony presents Glisten. Crackling and spooky, pops, creaks, cricks, and drips combine, winding through a 30 minute exploration of how ephemeral materials can express collective resilience.
Burça is an Istanbul-born, Amsterdam-based experimental musician and vocalist specialising in making loud, obnoxious, and tinnitus inducing sounds. Some of the themes that she explores are disgust, fear, anxiety, depravity, and all the animalistic feelings we wish to hide away in our contemporary bodies. She enjoys approaching these themes through the medium of her voice, to create sonic textures, heavy breathing, grunting, moaning, growling, and screaming.
F Aubergine (Fran Hoebergen) makes electronic music with an ever-changing collection of synthesizers, Game Boys, tape machines and modified electronics. DC motors are amplified with guitar pickups, old electronics are repurposed as instruments and things are often connected in ways they weren’t really intended to be. Live sets are mostly improvised: repetitive rhythms, crooked melodies, noise and acid slowly get tangled up into something that can be playful one moment and unexpectedly nasty the next.
Rizoom, a nationwide talent network in the Netherlands, is working with a team of Gen Z cultural organisers to explore new ways of connecting with the public. The result of their efforts is WAKE UP ZOMBIEBOY.
