Super organism is an album and multisensorial performance about the importance of micro fungal networks. The project is part of a collaboration for an interdisciplinary project of Suzette Bousema. She collaborated with other artists, designers and scientists by producing different artistic outcomes for her related exhibitions. Andrade en Bousema worked together with Merle Bergers to produce a whole multi sensorial performance and music album with visual art, smell and sound.
Rafaele Andrade (Curitiba - Brazil) is a composer, instrument maker and cellist currently based in the Netherlands and Brazil. With a diverse background in Composition, Conducting, Sonology and creative programming, Rafaele's artistic journey is a fusion of innovation and exploration. Rafaele's passion for music composition and performance led her to develop her own string instrument, Knurl. With Knurl she has performed in prestigious venues in Latin America and Europe.
Central to Rafaele's artistic philosophy is an attempt to create momentum for artistic performances: she uses artistic composition as iterative prototypes, constantly evolving and exploring new boundaries. Her improvisational talent functions as a powerful laboratory of ideas, through which she cultivates a distinctive artistic identity and stimulates innovation. Inspired by her creations, Rafaele addresses compelling social and environmental issues, engages in meaningful dialogues and catalyzes positive change. Rafaele's contribution involves reflection and exploration of experimental strategies for audience engagement.
Her participation in professional organizations such as Netherlands Coding Live and iii workspace has required her participation in the fundamentals of innovation and collaboration within the domain of music and technology. With a keen eye for sustainability, creative programming, public engagement, internationalization and design thinking, Rafaele's artistic journey is a testament of her output to pushing the boundaries of artistic expression and driving positive change in society.
