Intro in Situ puts the monumental Binvignat organ in the 16th century Cellebroeders Chapel in the spotlight. The history of this organ goes back to 1794, but the warm and bright sounds of this historical gem can certainly also make recent organ works shine. In this concert you will hear organists Francesca Ajossa and Christine Moraal with i.a. 21st century works by Limburgian composers.

Francesca Ajossa is an award-winning organist with an impressive international career. Trained in Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, and the UK, she has performed at major European music festivals, captivating audiences with a repertoire spanning Early Music to contemporary works. A PhD candidate at KU Leuven and artist-in-residence for the Contius Foundation, Francesca is dedicated to promoting the historic Contius organ in Leuven.

Christine Moraal combines her background as a pianist and musicologist with a passion for the organ. Trained at the Conservatorium Maastricht, she brings a blend of Baroque music and modern organ sounds to life. As a prizewinner of the International Organ and Vocal Competition (2014) and organist of historic organs in Vaals and Maastricht, Christine captivates her audience with her versatility.
