Making Noise for Gaza
COMPOSITION * POETRY * JAZZ IMPROV Making Noise for Gaza, together with artists and cultural institutions, calls for an end to the occupation and ethnic cleansing of Palestine.
The recent war in Gaza is just one phase in an ongoing crisis that will not end with a ceasefire. We ask everyone to contribute to ending this humanitarian disaster and to the reconstruction of Gaza.
This evening is accessible on a donation basis. All proceeds go directly to emergency aid for families in Gaza and support reconstruction on the ground. Donations are handled by humanitarian aid initiative GHAIM. Read more about GHAIM here.
The programme offers not only space for solidarity, but also for musical enrichment. Intro residents Sachit Ajmani and Nader Adabnejad present new work with the OWRSI Collective. They perform the piece Watan – The Homeland in My Body. In Watan, which means “homeland” in Arabic, the words of the prominent Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish are used to explore feelings of home and exile, love and loss.
Watan will be performed by: Sachit Ajman, Andrés Ravelo, Nora Tarraf, Ahmad Al Jazar, Nader Adabnejad.
There will also be performances by Ghanni and L'okapi. Poetry will be recited by Fatima Shaat and a bake sale will be organised by GHAIM.
This evening is organised as a collaboration between various parties, including FPM, L'okapi, GHAIM, Bankastudios and Intro in Situ.
