Sites Sonores are locations in the natural world with remarkable acoustics where you can play with echoes, listen to the specific sounds of the environment, or simply enjoy the silence.

In the French Haut-Jura, these special acoustic sites have been mapped since 1990. It’s high time we started looking for Sites Sonores in our own hilly countryside too!  

On Thursday 12 November, we’re setting off on an expedition to explore unique acoustic locations. The DMFF’s mountain guides have already carried out some reconnaissance, and together with musicians and sound artists bringing their acoustic instruments, we hope to map out a number of these sound locations. Listeners are very welcome!

We’ll start and end our walk at Bankastudio’s Maatricht.
