Composer’s Day
On Saturday 20 June 2026, various organisations will be hosting Composer’s Day Maastricht: works by 17 contemporary composers will be performed by more than thirty musicians across four venues. A special feature of this edition is the Euregional collaboration with the Labs Ensemble.
COMA Maastricht will kick off the event in Maastricht station hall with a special concert. Together with composition students from the Maastricht Conservatoire, they will perform works by five different composers, including Sara Carmona Murillo and Tineke Lemmens.
Nine ‘city composers’ are taking part in Composer’s Day 2026. For Maastricht, this is Hans Leenders, who will see various works performed by the Maastricht Chamber Choir in the conservatoire hall from 1.00 pm under the heading ‘The City Composer Presents’.
At 15:00 the Euregional Ensemble88, in collaboration with the Liège-based Labs Ensemble, will fill the auditorium of the Centre Céramique with works by six composers, including Vykintas Baltakas, Paul Pankert and Rutger Muller.
Finally, from 20:00 at the Bankastudios, Intro in Situ will present young composers such as Francesca Fantini, Jien Chir Yap and Clarinde Wesselink.
