Composer’s Day
The evening program of the Maastricht edition begins with an Open Studio by choreographer and artist Clarinde Wesselink. Saxophonist and composer Francesca Fantini then presents Sounding Fragilities, a project about movement, featuring a composition by Jien Chir Yap. A jazz student ensemble, led by Sebastian Brache Almonte, concludes the evening with their own new works.
During the day, Intro, together with CoMA Maastricht, Ensemble88, Maastrichtse Componisten, and Stichting Limburgse Componisten, brings new music to various locations across Maastricht. Throughout the Netherlands, the work of over a hundred active Dutch composers will be heard on Composers' Day, celebrating the importance of living, contemporary music.
