SAT 22/03
CoMAMaastricht & Eindhoven - Illusion
ENSEMBLE * DREAMY * DIVERSEStart — 20:00
Location — AINSI, Maastricht
For centuries, artists have been inspired by dream images. Music occupies a special place in this. Composers translate their dream images into music. But music is able to evoke dream images in the listener like no other art form.
The programme of this concert contains both elements. For example, the work Thalassa can evoke images of an azure blue sea with jumping fish. For The Illusion of Progress, the composer was inspired by the illusionary work Klimmen en dalen by M.C. Escher.
Ensembles CoMA Eindhoven en CoMA Maastricht present themselves again in a joined concert. Each ensemble performs a few works separately and they end the concert together with Illusions of Progress by British composer Howard Jones.
